Essential Motorcycle gear
What you need to wear and what you need to have to ensure maximum comfort and protection.
BIKESMOTORCYCLE GEAR
When it comes to motorcycle gear, everyone has their own preferences and styles. Having said that, safety and practicality should always be paramount.

The motorcycle gear market is a huge industry. The options that are available to consumers are infinite and the prices staggering. Whether you are a advanced motorcyclist or a weekend adventurer, we all know that there always seems to be a big hole in the wallet when you have a motorcycle and require gear. Let's just make sure it's the right gear then.
Protect your head
This should go without saying but I shall say it anyway...GET A GOOD HELMET.
This is going to be a potentially life saving choice, so take your time to go through the various options that are available in the market. You will see a lot of acronyms being used such as DOT, ECE,SNELL,FIM, SHARP and the list goes on and on. The most common certifications vary depending on the region. For example, in the United States, DOT certification is the most prevalent due to legal requirements. In Europe, ECE certification is widely accepted and often mandatory. In the UK, SHARP ratings are gaining importance due to the additional information they provide to consumers about helmet safety.
Ultimately, the choice of certification depends on various factors including legal requirements, personal preferences, and the perceived stringency of the standard. However, it's generally recommended to choose a helmet that meets at least one of the major safety standards to ensure adequate protection and make sure it fits right.
Padded jackets
No one wants to imagine a situation where you get knocked off the motorcycle, but its better to be prepared for it if ever it does happen. Find a good leather or cordura jacket, they help in preventing abrasion injuries if you come in contact with the road. Padded jackets, especially those with built-in armor or padding in key areas like the elbows, shoulders, and back, offer enhanced impact protection. These padding materials absorb and distribute the force of impacts, reducing the risk of fractures and soft tissue injuries in case of a collision. Leather and Cordura are known for their durability and tear resistance. Motorcycle jackets made from these materials are better able to withstand wear and tear, providing long-lasting protection to riders.
Gloves and boots
This is so basic, but still so overlooked. The amount of riders I have personally witnessed in everything from converse to flip-flops is in the realm of disbelief. Gloves over so much protection and offer abrasion resistance to prevent road rash and can help reduce the risk of cuts, scrapes, and burns. Additionally, gloves with built-in armor or padding provide impact protection for the knuckles, fingers, and palms, reducing the likelihood of fractures and soft tissue injuries.
The same goes for motorcycle boots that offer crucial protection for the feet, ankles, and lower legs. They provide stability and support, reducing the risk of twisting or spraining ankles during sudden stops or maneuvers. Boots also offer abrasion resistance and impact protection, shielding the feet from injuries in case of a crash. Furthermore, motorcycle boots often feature reinforced toe and heel areas to protect against impacts and provide traction to prevent slipping, especially in wet or slippery conditions
